Edith
was the most athletic of the "Keathley Girls" from the time
she was born - active in sports to the point that she was able to convince
her brother and his friends to let her play on their baseball team.
She had many friends, several very close ones who remained her friends
all of her life. After graduating from Hillsborough High, she went to
work at Kress Department store, and later married Charlie Mason.
She administered
the FBI secretarial services for many years, and she and Charlie retired
to their home in Lutz. After Charlie's death, Edie continued to live
there, active in bridge parties and played tennis regularly. In fact,
she played tennis just a few days before her death.
ALWAYS an animal
activist and protector, she had a number of "colorfu"l pets
through the years.
