Born
in 1922, the only son of Alpha and Norton Keathley, "Bud"
was active in sports and loved the outdoors as a youth. After graduating
from Hillsborough High School, he worked for Ferman's Auto Co. and joined
the National Guard. During WW II he was a P-38 pilot, and later graduated
from Tampa University.
He
married Marjorie Sauls and they had son, Robert Norton Keathley. The
marriage ended in divorce and later he married Marjorie Elb.
He
worked for the US Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, where
he remained until his retirement as Assistant Director of the agency,
located in Washington, DC He and Margie retired to Santee, SC and live
there for twenty-three years, until he died in 2004.
